Saturday, March 15, 9:00 AM – Noon Vacation Bible School Training:
We will meet at the church at 8:15 am and car pool to Canton Epworth United Methodist Church for hands on training by experienced Group Vacation Bible School experts. Green Valley United Methodist Church is paying for your registration fee; the only cost to you: your time, the cost of gas and the cost of lunch should you choose to join us after the training session. Registration deadline is March 6. Please use the signup sheet on the table at the church entry or call me to reserve your spot. Youth volunteers are also welcome to attend!
Saturday, March 15, 10:00 AM-1:30 PM:
Red Cross Certification for Infant and Child CPR is valid for two years. The cost is $25.00 due the day of training. Registration deadline is March 10. Please use the signup sheet on the table at the church entry or call me.
Nursery Care Givers Need for April, May and June
We are seeking volunteers, age eighteen and up, who are willing to serve as care givers in our nursery on Sunday mornings. We ask that you sign up to serve one Sunday each month for one hour at 8:30 am, 9:50 am, or 10:50 am. Volunteers will be trained in nursery procedures and well be required to submit to a background check. Please use the signup sheet on the table the church entry.
Sunday, April 20, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Children, ages three toilet trained through grade five completed, are invited to come and Celebrate the Festival of God’s Creation. We will gather together for a time of fun, games, scripture, crafts, and snacks. Friends are always welcome! A participation permission form will be needed for each child. Participation permission forms will be available along with a signup sheet on the table at the church entry.
June 22 through June 27: S.O.W.E.R. Mission Trip
Camperships will be available. We are very blessed to have a work mission camp fund that will pay $200.00 of the $250.00 per person fee.
S.O.W.E.R. stands for Sharing Our Witness Enriching Relationships and is a mission of the United Methodist Church. The Epworth Center is in Bethesda, Ohio is the home of S.O.W.E.R.
This year we have a new opportunity to spend a portion of our day helping a church run a Vacation Bible School Program; the other part of our day will be spent serving in the host community of the Vacation Bible School Program. We could be asked to paint, clean up a yard, make repairs or do other needed tasks in the community.
To participate in the S.O.W.E.R. Mission Trip you must be at least age 12. Youth, college students and adults are all welcome to participate. We need a minimum of ten people to take part in this mission. Please pick up an information packet available on the table at the church entry. Registration deadline is April 30.
